Driver injured in Denison chase, crash

DENISON, TX - An early morning Denison police chase has landed the alleged driver in the hospital with serious injuries.

Around 1:45 this morning Sgt. Jackie Thomas's police car was nearly struck by a vehicle. Police say the alleged driver was 29 year-old Lionel Moore from Denison.

Lt. Mike Eppler says the driver almost hit Thomas's car near Mirick Avenue and Hull Street, then drove at high speeds through downtown Denison, eventually crashing at Mirick and Walker.

The driver fled on foot and was later found hiding in the 500 block of West Bond. Moore faces a charge of Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle.
