Drug related collisions increase in Oklahoma
OKLAHOMA -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is seeing a growing trend in drug related collisions.
Troopers say in 2001 there were nearly 500 accidents involving a drug impaired driver and in 2011 there were more than 1,000.
Troop F, which covers seven local counties say in about 11 years they have investigated more than 250 drug related crashes that has killed 10 people and injured 218 others.
OHP says many of these accidents are caused by a growing trend of pain relievers being mixed with depression medication and alcohol.
