DURANT, OK - The Boys and Girls of Club of Durant hosted a clean up day to help them get ready to move into their new building.
The club is moving into the old Durant middle school on 6th Avenue and will use the gym, kitchen, rec room and 7 classrooms.
More than 50 volunteers came out to help clean up the building in order to get it ready for students.
The executive director explained their need for the new space.
"With growing numbers we have to grow building-wise," said director Jason Sands. "And so we need to get this building so that way we can also have, and the key word ,impact, have that impact not just on the city of Durant but our community."
The club plans on having another clean up day to do more work on the building.
