DURANT, OK-- Visitors to Durant's Main Street, can now log on for free internet.
Main Street board member, Chris Pierce, says they've been working on installing wi-fi since July.
On Friday, they were able to install the first hot-spot. Pierce says the $15,000 project lets visitors connect through their smart-phones and computers while they're downtown.
Program manager, Cecily Williams, hopes having wi-fi will help economic growth for Main Street.
"We just see this as a huge opportunity for the businesses and an incentive for businesses to come and open up and start and find new locations here in downtown. We also see that for our members and our community," Williams, said.
Pierce says they'll be installing more hot-spots down Main Street in the next few weeks.
