DURANT, OK -- Durant Police arrested a man they say assaulted an emergency room doctor.
Police say they responded to a noise compliant on 9th Street Tuesday and found 30-year-old Joseph Medaris drunk and yelling to himself.
Officers say he got violent and assaulted a police officer when they tried to arrest him for public intoxication.
Police say they brought him to the emergency room where he later kicked a doctor and had to be restrained.
He was booked into the Bryan County jail.
