DURANT, OK -- A Durant police lieutenant and veteran was honored Tuesday evening.

Lieutenant Chris Marcy was presented with the VFW Law Enforcement Public Servant Citation award at Tuesday's Durant city council meeting.

Marcy served in the U.S. Army for eight years, and has worked for the Durant Police Department for more than 12.

"To have other heroes nominate somebody like me and honor me, it doesn't get any bigger of an honor than that," Lt. Marcy said.

Lt. Marcy found out tonight that he also won the statewide public servant award. He'll receive that in June.
