LAMAR COUNTY, TX-- A local non-profit, that offers safe rides to Lamar County residents, is getting some nationwide recognition for their efforts.
Dylan's Drivers was one of 30 groups selected from hundreds of other volunteer programs across the U.S. for the Safeco Make More Happen Award.
Dylan's Drivers didn't come away with the win in the competition, but they were presented with a $3,500 check from Safeco for being one of the top finalists.
"It's an honor," said Ronnie Ballard. "With Sean and Safeco I appreciate it more than they will ever know. It continues us to keep doing what we are doing here in Lamar County."
The designated driver program has given nearly 4,000 safe rides since its started in December 2011.
