Flash flood watch is still in effect for all of Texoma along with scattered flood warnings. The continued rain for today and tomorrow can cause flooding issues so watch road conditions, turn around don't drown. Thunderstorms are possible as well that could become on the strong side.
LAMAR COUNTY, TX-- A local designated driver program, that has given over 2300 safe rides home, has been recognized by the Texas Senate.
Dylan's Drivers has been giving Lamar County residents safe rides home since 2011.
Ronnie and Vikki Ballard started the organization after the tragic loss of their son in an accident involving a drunk driver. The non- profit organization was recently recognized by State Senator Kevin Eltife for making Lamar County roads safer.
Executive Director Paul Allen says the proclamation is a testament to the volunteers.
"Once they leave that night, the things that they did that night possibly, because we will never know, could of saved a lot of people from going through some of the same things that Ronnie and Vicki Ballard and the Witmer family went through," said Allen.
Dylan's Drivers will be hosting their annual Our Rides for a Reason fundraising festival on September 21st.
