SHERMAN, TX -- An elderly woman has lost thousands of dollars due to a recent phone scam.
Sherman Police say the caller claims to be a Michael Anderson and said the woman had won over two million dollars, but that to receive the prize, they needed money sent to them first.
The 80-year-old woman reportedly sent several thousands of dollars to a phone number that may have originated in Jamaica.
Police are warning people to take precaution of these phony callers who may be targeting the elderly.
