DENISON, TX -- A local political group is making it their mission to educate others about emergency preparedness.

The Texoma Patriots held an emergency preparedness fair in Denison Saturday. Vendors were there to offer advice and tools to protect families in a natural disaster.

The group also believes there could be another terrorist attack or nuclear disaster. Members say it's important to have plenty of food and water on hand, and always have a plan of action.

"One of the things that the Texoma Patriots is personal responsibility and this falls in that line of personal responsibility where you will be ready to take care of your family. Do you have a plan?" coordinator, Kaaren Teuber said.

This was the first preparedness fair and the group hopes to make it an annual event.
