SOUTHMAYD, TX -- Several residents in Southmayd were without water Friday night.
Southmayd Mayor Tom Byler says a power surge kicked off water to the west side of the city. He says the problem was fixed within a few hours and the water service is now back on.
Byler says their water system has had frequent problems in the past, but he says engineers will be looking at the water system next week and he hopes that will help pinpoint the problem.
