Enos woman shot, ex-boyfriend arrested

ENOS, OK -- A Marshall County woman, shot twice Tuesday afternoon, drove herself to safety, as neighbors rush to her aid. Her ex-boyfriend is under arrest for the crime. Sara Humphrey was at the scene, and brings us more from Enos.

It's the fourth shooting in Marshall County in a week.

"I seen Russell pick a gun up off that table and I was walking and I see kay I told her don't go over there. He has a gun in his hand," said neighbor Randell Arnold.

Russell Nesbitt allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend, 39-year-old Kay Villicana twice in the neck and shoulder with a shotgun outside his home off Blackbird Road in Enos around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon.

"She pulled up here, and I got down to that pole down there and I heard two gunshots."

Neighbors say after Villicana was shot, she was able to drive herself down the road to safety while she waited for authorities.

"She indicated to us who the suspect was," said Marshall County Undersheriff Donny Raley. "We came to the residence and we determined what the crime was, and we placed that suspect in custody at that time, pending further investigation."

Raley says Villicana was flown to a Plano hospital in stable condition. Nesbitt was booked into the Marshall County Jail without bond and charged with shooting with intent to kill.

This isn't the only case of domestic violence Marshall County has seen in the past week.
Friday, 20-year-old Joshua Mahaffey allegedly shot his pregnant ex-girlfriend, 20-year-old Ashleigh Lindsay inside her Kingston home. He then turned the gun on himself. Lindsay later died.

"They are not they are totally unrelated. It is a similar case in that this was a domestic relationship, they were in an estranged domestic relationship," said Raley.

Neighbors say Villiacana and Nesbitt did have an off again, on again relationship, but they never expected it to end in gunfire.

"Russell has been down here all his life with us and he aint ever act like that i dont know what got into him," Arnold said.
