CLAYTON, OK - Two inmates who escaped an Atoka prison late last night didn't make it very far before police caught up with them.

The Clayton Police Department in Pushmataha County tells us around midnight 24-year-old Nicholas Melton and 20-year-old Colton Potter escaped the McLeod Correctional Facility in Atoka in a stolen car.

When the call went out, Clayton Police Chief Roger Erwin went on duty and spotted the vehicle on Highway 2. Chief Erwin pulled over the stolen car and arrested the inmates. They were placed back into Oklahoma Department of Corrections custody today.

Potter is a convicted rapist, and Melton was serving time for burglary. Both will face additional prison time for escape.

Crazy lady, looks like the story said this happened late last night. Apparently, all the information came in one story; they escaped late last night and were captured a short time later. Amazing, the information you can get from reading the story!!!!!
