Ex-Marine sentenced to 30 years in Stephens County

DUNCAN, OK - An ex-Marine convicted of sexually abusing a child in Stephens County has been sentenced to thirty years in prison.

Charles Dyer was convicted of raping and molesting a 6-year-old girl in April.

It was his third trial on the charges.

Dyer's first trial ended in a hung jury and his second trial was declared a mistrial.

Dyer was arrested in Texas last year and returned to Oklahoma by authorities after failing to appear for the scheduled start of his trial.

I knew Charles, his ex-wife, daughter and the details of why his ex-wife set up these false claims. The only thing Charles did wrong was run from the authorities and the only thing he is guilty of is sleeping with his ex-wife's best friend. Charles loves his daughter dearly and would never harm a hair on her head. She is simply a victim of her mother's influence and conspiracy. This sentencing is as ridiculous as the Stevens Co court system.
