UPDATE: Family member charged in Coalgate teacher sex abuse case

COALGATE, OK -- A relative of a Coalgate teacher accused of sexually abusing a child was booked into jail Thursday morning, then released.

A warrant was issued yesterday for that family member, who authorities say permitted 32-year-old William Jason Pinkston, to sexually abuse a young girl.

The relative surrendered to Coal County sheriff's deputies Thursday morning.

To protect the victim's identity, we aren't reporting the individual's name.

Pinkston was arrested Monday, on child sex abuse charges. He is out of jail on a $100,000 bond.

A family member of a Coalgate teacher accused of sexually abusing a child is now facing charges as well.

We told you Tuesday that 32-year-old William Pinkston was arrested Monday for sexually abusing a young girl.

Sheriff Bryan Jump says they issued an arrest warrant for that family member Wednesday, for permitting child sexual abuse.

That family member is expected to surrender to authorities Thursday morning.

To protect the victim's identity, we are not reporting the family member's name.

Investigators say Pinkston is out on a $100,000 bond.
