Fire at Certainteed Plant in Sherman

SHERMAN, TX -- Parts of a Sherman business were evacuated Wednesday morning after a fire breaks out.

Sherman Fire Chief, Jeff Jones says at a little after 11, the ventilation system at the Certainteed plant off Heritage Parkway caught fire.

Jones says the sprinkler system did its job and kept the fire contained. It took firefighters about an hour and a half to put out the blaze.

"Some of that's a precaution. Just a facility that size, and just their product and process alone causes some concern. We just wanna make sure we have plenty of resources on hand," said Chief Jones.

No one was injured in the fire.
