Fire damages vacant house in Denison

DENISON, TX -- Fire heavily damaged a Denison home Monday afternoon when a controlled burn got out of control catching a house on fire.

Denison fire officials say around 3 p.m. the owner of the home on Crone Road left a log burning in the yard.

The fire caught the grass on fire and spread to the house causing extensive damage.

No one was living in the home.

The owner was remodeling it for renters.

The fire marshal is investigating.
