Firefighters investigate lightning strike at elementary school
GUNTER, TX – Firefighters investigated a possible lightning strike at the Gunter Elementary School around 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

GUNTER, TX – Firefighters investigated a possible lightning strike at the Gunter Elementary School around 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

Gunter Superintendent Rick Cohagan said they believe lightning struck the school because it set off the school’s fire alarm system.

Firefighters inspected the building and found no fire or structure damage. The fire alarm and electrical system was experience problems though.

Gunter ISD maintenance crews were on hand to fix the systems.
