BONHAM, TX - A former Fannin County teacher accused of having sex with a student is headed to trial. 27-year-old Jordan Lane of Honey Grove pleaded not guilty at a hearing yesterday.

Lane was arrested last August and was indicted on two counts of child sexual assault, a second degree felony.

Honey Grove Police and other law enforcement got tips from local students about Lane's conduct, leading them to interview the 14-year-old student involved. The investigation lead to Lane's arrest.

Honey Grove ISD superintendent Jeff Clark says according to police, "the alleged conduct did not occur at school."

Lane is due back in court March 26 and is slated for jury trial April 16. If convicted she faces up to 20 years in prison.
