Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
ARDMORE, OK -- According to Ardmore Police, Derrick Taylor was on his way home with two friends when the accident occurred.
Investigators believe the 17-year-old driver may have swerved off the road to avoid and animal.
The driver and a 16-year-old passenger were taken to hospitals.
Derrick was employed with Duvak's Collision Center in Ardmore through the Chickasaw Youth Program and was a member at the American Indian Baptist Church.
His funeral will be held in The Chapel at Griffin-Hillcrest of Ardmore at 2 PM, Wednesday.
