Gainesville city council to vote on renaming public safety center

GAINESVILLE, TX -- Tuesday evening Gainesville city council members will vote on a proposal honoring the late police Chief Steven Fleming.

The council will vote to rename the public safety center to the Steven K. Fleming Public Safety Center to honor Fleming's 22 years of service to the community.

The center houses the police fire and emergency operations departments.

Fleming died from injuries he sustained during a fall in October while on duty.

The meeting is tonight at 6:30 at City Hall.
