Grayson Co. sheriff officers moving into new office

GRAYSON CO., TEXAS -- Some Grayson County sheriff employees are relocating to the county courthouse for more room.

At this morning's Commissioner Court, commissioners approved letting about 12 to 15 officers move into courthouse offices.

Sheriff Keith Gary says the sheriff's office at the Justice Center is crowded, making it difficult for officers and investigators to do their work.

The sheriff's department will remodel the office space that they'll be using in the courthouse, being cautious of the asbestos in the building.

"We're just so thankful to Judge Bynum and the commissioners for letting us do this. They took the opportunity to do this for us and we're grateful," Gary said.

Sheriff Gary says they don't have a budget or a timetable laid out yet for the renovations, but they hope things will move swiftly.
