GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- Dozens of Grayson County residents will be better protected if a severe storm or tornado hits, thanks to a recent federal grant.

More than a hundred home owners showed up to the Safe Room Rebate kick off meeting Satruday morning at Grayson County College. There, they learned if they qualified for the program and how to apply. The program is made possible through a recent $465,000 dollar grant. If accepted, residents will be reimbursed for 50 percent of the cost. The maximum rebate will be $3,000 dollars.

"i think it's a wonderful program! i have recently moved to Grayson County and purchased property here, and one of the concerns that i have had is the fact that they have a lot of bad weather," Ron Cooper said.

To learn more about the program visit the Grayson County website www.co.grayson.tx.us.
