Grayson County Sheriff's Office gets new K-9

SHERMAN, TX -- The Grayson County Sheriff's office got a new member this week.

Meet Thor, Grayson County's new K-9 officer.

Lieutenant Rickey Wheeler says Thor is trained to detect various types of illegal narcotics, like heroin and cocaine.

He is the first drug dog for the sheriffs office in several years.

Thor joins the Sheriff's Office from the Czech Republic, and will be patrolling with Investigator Mark Haning.

"We're excited to have thor here, he's going to be a great attribute to our department and we're looking forward to see what he can find for us," said Wheeler.

Grayson County Sheriff's Office says they were able to pay for Thor with drug seizure money.
