Head-on collision in Denison sends five to hospital

(DENISON, TEXAS) -- A head-on collision in Denison sent five people to the hospital Saturday evening, including children.

Two medical helicopters were called to the accident that happened around 5 o'clock this evening off FM 406 and Katy Road.

Troopers say a white Tahoe driven by a 17-year-old was traveling East on FM 406 when it crossed into the Westbound lane and crashed head on into a silver Yukon that was driven by a 35-year-old mother with her two children in the backseat.

Authorities say The 17-year-old driver of the Tahoe and the 16-year-old passenger were air lifted to a hospital with critical injuries.
They say the mother driving the Yukon and her two children, ages, 1 and 6, were taken to Texoma Medical Center.
