Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
SHERMAN, TX -- Music filled the air at the Hispanic Heritage Celebration Saturday.
Hundreds of people took pride in their heritage at the Sherman Municipal lawn from 10 to 4 Saturday afternoon.
Kids enjoyed plenty of activities, including a water slide and a dunking booth.
Organizers say they also celebrated the independence of Mexico and Central America.
"Basically what we're trying to do is show our kids that it's okay to be proud of their heritage, you know, and there's one chance to get all the Grayson County community to celebrate with us," said Henry Marroquin, the entertainment organizer.
This was the 15th annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration.
