DENISON, TX -- Holly Tucker embraces Denison like a second home.
"Denison people just kinda welcomed me in like I was one of their own, and I love that," she said.
And on Saturday she's performing at the Rialto in front of some of her biggest fans.
"I'm super excited about it, because I've been wanting to come back here for a really long time. I have some really close family friends that got me hooked up with this town," she said.
She's performing with Shawnda Rains a local voice coach she considers a mentor.
"She would send me recordings of what she was about to do and we'd go over things and talk about what she should do if she needed advice," she said.
The two met up a few years ago when Tucker entered a talent contest in Carthage, Texas.
"Through that we've just become really close and I trust her with everything. She's really honest to me and that's what I need," Tucker said.
Rains said the first time she saw Holly sing it brought her to tears.
"Not many people can do that, being a singer for all these years," she said.
And Raines said Tucker has only gotten better.
"She just took over the whole stage, she's a little superstar now. It's been really incredible, I'm like a momma hen, it just makes me really proud, and cry, of course again," she said.
Tucker said she plans to perform some original material and re-makes of popular songs on Saturday.
"Just a lot of different stuff. I've got a few surprises up my sleeve, so it'll be worth seeing," she said.
Though she's accomplished a lot already Tucker's excited about the future of her career.
"I don't know, just be in the best light that I can. And so whatever that takes, I know God's gonna lead me there," she said.
She said the next major stop is Nashville, where she has meetings lined up with a few record labels.
