PARIS, TX-- A program that will help residents renovate their homes, that need improvement, has been approved by the Paris City Council.
Paris residents, who qualify for the program, will be offered up to a $5,000 loan to improve their properties.
The city has teamed up with four banks in town.
The city will put up $2,500 per home, with one of the participating banks supplying the other half. Each of the banks have set aside $50,000 for the loans.
"Home improvements, painting, roof repairs and windows, said Liberty National Bank President Carl Cecil. "Things of that nature will help improve the look of our city."
The city is putting aside $100,000 from its demolition budget for the loan program. All participants must be pre-qualified by the city before going to one of the banks.
