Hospital authority meets for the first time

BONHAM, TX-The board of the new Fannin County Hospital Authority met for the first time Thursday.

Seven members of the board of directors agreed to take on the responsibilities of overseeing Red River Regional Hospital. Hospital CEO David Conejo said hospital officials will still be involved in running the facility, but they'll be reporting to the authority.

Board chairman Clark Sanderson said they're expecting to receive $8 million to $24 million from the state to help expand services.

"There will be outreach programs that will affect the whole county. They will be able to bring in new doctors and things of that nature which will certainly benefit the whole community," he said.

Sanderson said the new board plans to meet every two weeks.
