Scattered showers and storms could become strong to severe this afternoon into the evening. Primary threats are large hail and heavy rainfall causing flooding in poor drainage areas. Damaging winds are included as well and an isolated tornado possibility is very low but not eliminated.
HUGO, OK -- A Hugo man brought in the largest catfish one Texoma lake has ever recorded and he did it with his bare hands.
According to the Hugo News, Derik Chumley was noodling last Wednesday when he got his hands on a giant flathead catfish.
Oklahoma Wildlife officials confirmed the 70-pound catfish was a Hugo Lake record. The fish was recorded at 43.75 inches long and over 33-inches in girth.
Chumley said he caught the fish in an old culvert he found when the lake was low several years ago.
