Hundreds show support for 'Chick-Fil-A Day' in Sherman

SHERMAN, TX - Hundreds of Texomans are supporting Chick-Fil-A this morning by eating at the restaurant in Sherman.

Our reporter who was just at the scene says the drive-through line extends from the restaurant back to the Wal-Mart parking lot. A Sherman police officer there says restaurant managers expect this to be their biggest sales day yet. People we talked to say they're mostly there to support the company's right to free speech.

"We support Chick-Fil-A and their traditional family values. We believe they should have the same freedom of speech that everybody else should have," one patron told us.

The company has been criticized for the anti-gay marriage comments that were recently made by a company executive. Some gay rights groups have called for boycotts of the restaurant. We had calls today of groups that will be heading to the Sherman Chick Fil-A later to also show their support.

We'll have more on this later today.
