BONHAM, TX -- Nearly 600 people ran and walked for a cause Saturday morning in Bonham.
It was the 3rd annual Women Rock 5k. It's a run to remember Susan Hicks, a Bonham woman who lost her battle with breast cancer.
Women Rock is a local organization dedicated to breast cancer awareness. Many survivors attended the run. One survivor says the organization continues to grow -- meaning more people are joining in the fight.
"People in this area that just know that breast cancer awareness needs to every where all the time. One in eight women in their lifetime can be diagnosed. It's real. It's here. We need to be sure everyone is aware of it," survivor Janis Fletcher said.
Our very own News 12 team participated in the run and took home some medals.
