IHOP offering free pancakes for charity

SHERMAN, TEXAS -- IHOP is giving away free pancakes today, but they're asking for a little something in return.

They're offering free cakes on this National Pancake Day in exchange for a donation to Shriners Hospitals.

Shriners aims to raise $3 million dollars nationwide. Last year at the Sherman IHOP, Shriners raised more than $4,000 dollars in donations.

"It's a 22 hospital system that uses donations to keep things going and keep the operations up and the research and everything to treat injured, crippled and burned children, regardless of their ability to pay," North Texas Shrine Club President Bob Followell said.

The free cakes for charity deal lasts Tuesday through about 10 P.M. Tuesday.
