STRINGTOWN, OK-Prison officials confirm several inmates were stabbed Monday at the Mack Alford Correctional Center.
Deputy Warden, Tommy Sharp, said five inmates were taken to hospitals for cuts after a fight broke out Monday afternoon in one of the housing units. Staff were able to control the situation in just minutes and said they're trying to identify suspects. Sharp said they are also trying to determine what kind of weapons were used.
Sharp said anyone involved in the stabbings will be transferred to a higher security facility.
No names have been released and the investigation is ongoing.
