Interim city manager continues role in Paris

PARIS, TX -- The Paris city council says the interim city manager will keep serving in his role, indefinitely, as city manager John Godwin continues to recover.

Godwin has been hospitalized now for about two weeks with heart problems.

In an emergency meeting on June 17th, Financial Director Gene Anderson was appointed interim city manager.

The council has removed the six week timeline for Anderson's service.

"They want him to focus on getting better and returning once he has a full release from his doctor that says he can do that," said Anderson. "He shouldn't worry about anything at the city."

Anderson will continue as interim city manager until Godwin is well enough to come back.
