DURANT, OK - The Durant Chamber of Commerce says JC Potter Sausage in Durant will close its doors, but the company that bought Potter says it will retain the facility's entire sales force and is moving production of all its products to their Tennessee plant.
Williams Sausage Company says they bought out JC Potter Sausage Company, but did not buy the Durant plant. The plant located off Highway 70 just east of downtown Durant will close in September.
A release from Williams Sausage Company states J.C. Potter's sales manager will continue to manage the sales force that operates in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas.
The company has been a staple in Durant for over 50 years and produces sausages, patties, breakfast sandwiches and bacon.
We reached out to the company, but they did not return our calls.
