Jay Paul Gumm indicted on embezzlement charges in Mississippi

MISSISSIPPI -- A former state senator from Texoma has been indicted on embezzlement charges in Mississippi.

Jay Paul Gumm served as Oklahoma State Senator for district 6 from 2002 to 2010.

After that Gumm became an economic development official in Stone County Mississippi.

He was arrested in August accused of embezzling $24,000 dollars from his employer and allegedly putting $11,000 dollars into his personal checking account.

A spokesman for the state auditor's office says Gumm was indicted on the embezzlement charges last week.
