Weather Aware conditions continue overnight due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 7 a.m. for the northernmost portions of Texoma including Atoka, Coal, Johnston, Murray and Pontotoc Counties Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Rain ends NW to SE during the day Thursday.
JOHNSTON COUNTY, OK -- The Johnston County Emergency Management director is stepping down from her position.
Betty Roan informed the commissioner several months ago that she will be resigning from her position as director in June.
Roan tells us the assistant director, Jason Bryant, has started taking classes and going through training if he is needed to fill in Roan.
She also says the commissioner is expected to accept her resignation in about two weeks.
