GUTHRIE, OK -- The Johnston County Fire Task Force has been deployed to help fight the Guthrie wildfire.
Johnston County EMS Director Kenny Power says a crew of 12 firefighters from seven departments drove to Guthrie this afternoon. They brought four brush trucks, 1 water tender, 1 EMS unit, and 1 command unit. Power says his crew is stationed by Seward Road, one mile east of Interstate 35.
"I'd say there's probably 100 firefighting vehicles in this particular area that we're out at now. Red Cross is on scene, health department, command one from the state, emergency management is here," Power said.
Power says his crew will be helping in Guthrie for the next 24 hours.
