Lamar Co. Judge injured in scooter accident

LAMAR COUNTY, TX-- A single vehicle accident over the weekend sent a Lamar County Judge to a Dallas area hospital.

Trooper Mark Tackett says just before 2:30 Sunday afternoon, 6th District Court Judge Eric Clifford was riding a scooter northbound on FM 1502, near Blossom, when he lost controlled and rolled into a ditch.

Clifford was taken by helicopter to Plano Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The District Clerk's office tells us, Judge Clifford suffered leg and shoulder injuries. He's expected to be out for at least three weeks.
