LAMAR COUNTY, TX-- Lamar County will soon be looking for a new Veterans Services Officer after their current officer was asked to resign.

After a three hour executive session Monday, commissioners unanimously requested that Rhonda Rogers resign. She agreed to step down but hasn't submitted her resignation.

County Judge Chuck Superville says, several veterans came forward expressing concerns with Rogers.

Commissioners will decide whether to accept Rogers' resignation at their next meeting. If approved, they will appoint an interim Veterans Services Officer until a replacement is hired.

She served as the veterans officer for 3 years.
