Leonard officer placed on leave after high speed car chase leads to shooting

MCKINNEY, TX -- A Leonard police officer involved in a high speed chase that led to the shooting of one of the suspects has been placed on administrative leave.

According to the Leonard City Clerk, the leave is standard after any police officer involved shooting.

McKinney Police say the chase started Wednesday afternoon near Greenville making its way through north texas all the way to highway 380 in McKinney.

The chase ended at a gas station and one of two suspects was shot by the Leonard officer.

26-year-old Katalyn Green who is from Greenville was taken to the hospital with a leg wound.

She was booked into the Collin County jail on an existing warrant out of McKinney.

The man was taken back to Hunt county where the chase originated.

His name is not yet being released.

Texas Rangers are investigating.
