Leonard officials investigating house fire

LEONARD, TX - Leonard officials are investigating what caused a house to catch fire Tuesday morning.

Family members say the fire started around 7 A.M. near one of the bedrooms.

Both residents of the home a husband and wife and their four dogs made it out safely.

Fire Chief Roby Watson says the kitchen and garage were completely burned but doesn't think the house is a total loss.

A family member says her mother was asleep Tuesday morning when the fire broke out.

According to Kylie Weaver, "She woke up to my stepdad yelling at her to get out of the house, and they were trying to get the animals out. We don't know who called 911."

Chief Watson says Tuesday morning's windy conditions made it difficult for firefighters to put out the blaze.
