The American Institute of Economic Research has come up with its top 75 best college towns and cities for students. The number one town on the list of 2013 Ithaca, New York.
Ithaca is the home of Cornell University, Ithaca College and Tompkins Cortland Community College.
Number two on the list of best college towns: Ames, Iowa. The home of Iowa State University.
Number three: State College, Pennsylvania home of Penn State.
What about Austin you might ask? The home of the University of Texas was ranked number two in the mid-sized metros index.
The lists were based on: student diversity, unemployment rate, degree attainment and earning potential among others.
