ARDMORE, OK -- Police say a 2 month long investigation involving ATF agents and the U.S. Marshalls ended today with a suspected drug dealer in custody.

23-year-old James Marshall was taken into custody Friday morning for marijuana distribution and illegal possession of a firearm.

Captain Eric Hamblin says Marshall was arrested around 9 AM in the 100 block of 5th North West Street.
Hamblin says a federal warrant for Marshall was issued earlier this week and led to today's operation with the ATF agents and U.S. Marshals.
Hamblin could not comment on the amount of marijuana the suspect had in his possession or any further details of the investigation, but he says putting drug dealers like Marhsall behind bars, makes ardmore a safer place.

"You know, that's our goal is to lower the violent crime and the crime rate in Ardmore. Anytime we incarcerate somebody, we hope that, that does that," said Hamblin.

Captain Hamblin says Marshall has been booked into a federal facility in Muskogee.
