DALLAS (AP) - A longtime Dallas County commissioner whose home was raided in 2011 by the FBI in a money laundering investigation has been arrested.
An attorney for John Wiley Price confirms Friday's arrest of the elected official, who's held office since 1985. Billy Ravkind had no immediate information on charges.
The FBI and federal prosecutors did not immediately comment.
Price was not charged following the June 2011 raid on his home. He's denied wrongdoing. Messages left at his office Friday weren't immediately returned.
Federal authorities in 2012 asked a judge to allow them to keep about $230,000 in cash seized from a safe in Price's home. In an affidavit, the FBI accused Price of money laundering dating to his personal bankruptcy filing in 1996, even though no criminal charges were filed.
