SHERMAN, TX -- The Loy Lake Bridge closure, set for Monday, has been delayed to accommodate holiday traffic.
The bridge is now set to close July 8th.
Tim McAlavy with TXDOT says the date was pushed back due to the 4th of July weekend.
The bridge is still scheduled to be shut down for 8 to 10 weeks while crews widen it from two to four lanes.
Despite the delay TXDOT says the project is on schedule.
This is the second time crews have pushed back the start date for construction.
It was originally set to close on June 16th, then moved to June 30th.
