SHERMAN, Texas -- The Sherman Police Department celebrated the promotion of one of their longest serving members today.
Former Sherman Police Lieutenant Bob Fair is now one of two assistant chiefs in the Department.
He's been with Sherman PD for 35 years, starting in the patrol division in 1979, and gradually working his way through almost every area of the department, including the special response team, the narcotics division, and the critical accident investigation team.
"I'm happy to say Sherman is where I'll end my career. It's not common for someone to stay in an agency as long as I have, but the City of Sherman has been very good to me and my family, and I'm excited to finish my career here," said now Assistant Chief Bob Fair.
The Department celebrated with a promotion ceremony Tuesday morning.
