Madill students unique lesson on literacy

MADILL, TX - Students in Madill got a unique lesson on literacy from the community.

Madill Public schools held their first ever "Christmas with the kids".

More than 25 members of the community visited one classroom each to read the poem "The Night Before Christmas", they also spoke to the elementary and early childhood classes about the importance of reading and writing in their respective jobs.

Jon Tuck is the superintendent for Madill Public schools and wants kids to understand the importance of literacy to their futures.

Madill schools plans on making christmas with the kids an annual event.
