Man arrested after car chase through Bryan County

DURANT, OK -- A man who led Durant police on a chase through Bryan County Thursday morning was arrested for aggravated assault and battery of a police officer.

Police tell us they were advised about a suicidal person in a car.

When they got to the scene, Jerry Brackett put the vehicle in reverse and tried to ram an officer with the car.

Police say he then threw it in drive and hit a Bryan County deputy's vehicle and sped off east on Highway 70.

Officers chased Brackett until he ran off Lone Oak Road and drove through a fence.

No one was hurt.
